- Registration Certificate
When you register your dog with us, you will receive your official AKC certificate. This certificate will contain detailed information about your dog. You’ll also gain access to resources and services for every stage of your dog’s life. - Dog Name Check
To register your dog with the AKC, your dog should have a unique name. Find out if the name you have in mind is available, and if it meets AKC requirements.
Each individual dog breed has its own set of Standard (S), and some breeds have Alternate (A) color and marking codes. To register your dog with the AKC, you must select a color that the National Parent Club has designated. This program is for registering mixed breeds or unregistrable purebred dogs. The benefits are similar to our traditional registration program, and you’ll get plenty of opportunities to connect with other owners of mixed-breed dogs! - Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL)
If you have a purebred dog not eligible for AKC registration — but you still want to compete in AKC sports and events — a PAL number is for you. - Open Registration
If your dog is registered with one of our acceptable domestic registries and the breed is still Open you should be able to register with the AKC. See the list of currently eligible breeds here and the - Limited Registrations
Limited Registration helps breeders protect their breeding programs. If breeders do not want puppies used for breeding purposes, they can request the option for those puppies. - Kennel Name Registration
Make sure your kennel gets the credit it deserves! When you register the name of your kennel with us, you can rest assured that a dog’s history can be traced back to you. - Conditional Registration
Conditional Registration is available only to those dogs/litters (and their offspring) that are registered with ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ and a DNA discrepancy is discovered after registration. An individual dog’s registration can be reverted to Regular AKC Registration status by completion of three generations of DNA verified parentage. - Foreign Dog Registration (Special Registry Services)Â
