Agility is a fast-growing dog sport that showcases the power of the human-canine bond. As the handler directs the dog through a predetermined obstacle course, the team races against the clock to finish the agility course with as few mistakes as possible.

The 2024 AKC National Agility Championship took place March 14 through 17 in Perry, Georgia. You can watch the competition’s livestream, follow the coverage of the event on social media, and watch the finals of this year’s championship from the comfort of your home so you don’t miss a beat.

What Dog Breeds Will I See?

All dog breeds can compete in agility. Each dog covers the same course, where jump heights are adjusted to make the competition fair across all dog sizes. You will see plenty of Border Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs, and Australian Shepherds. Other breeds who qualified to compete at the 2024 AKC National Agility Championship are the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen, Samoyed, French Bulldog, and Bernese Mountain Dog, as well as plenty of All-American Dogs.
