More than 2,500 dogs within over 200 breeds competed for the coveted title of Best in Show at the 147th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show presented by . Conformation took place at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York, on May 8-9 as part of Westminster Week.
After two days of breed competition and two days of group competition, seven dogs moved forward to Best in Show competition on May 9 to be crowned top dog. Dogs competed to decide the Best of Breed winner that would move on to the Group, which chooses one winner from the breeds to go on to Best in Show.
The Hound Group, Toy Group, Non-Sporting Group, and Herding Group Winners were chosen on Monday night, and the Sporting Group, Working Group, and Terrier Group Winners were chosen before Best in Show on Tuesday night.
